Pine Cone Cheese Balls

Pine cone cheese balls

Cute, huh?  I’ve seen these darling little pine cone cream cheese thingies in magazines ads for years and they are still adorable.  Easy and oh so festive, these make such a great presentation for the Holidays or at any time of the year. And…they are so tasty.  You decide what flavor combination to use.  I made one half bacon and the other half green olive.

I took a block of softened cream cheese and added about a cup of grated cheddar cheese, a dash of Worcestershire sauce, some seasoned salt and chopped green onions.  Since I made the whole almond pine cone a bit larger than the sliced almond one…. I took about a third of the mixture and put it in a separate bowl.  In the larger mixture I added chopped cooked bacon and in the smaller I added chopped green olives with a bit of the juice.

Now, take 2 pieces of plastic wrap and coat with baking spray.  Spoon each mixture of a sheet and form in a cone, wrap and chill in fridge for at least a couple of hours.

Drop each cone on your pretty little serving tray and start adding almonds from the tip up to the wider end…alternating rows so the almonds do not line up exactly.  You’ll see once you start.  Press them in good so they will stay in place.

Adorn with a small pine bough or rosemary sprig…some type of greenery to make this gorgeous appetizer even more festive!!  Add crackers and it’s a go.

Happy Holidays Y’all!
